Provide "Peace Of Mind" Thru Low Cost Motorcycle Insurance.
Cycle Insurance Overview: Dirt bike and ATV theft is a real problem today due to alarming motorcycle theft statistics (see below), and the difficulty in which authorities have in tracking unregistered vehicles. The sad thing is many people do not realize that cheap insurance options do exist from reputable insurance companies such as Progressive Motorcycle Insurance, Geico Motorcycle Insurance, Allstate and many others.
The process is very simple as most insurance companies have an online form you can fill in that will provide you with a detailed quotation response within minutes. Both Progressive and Geico offer websites that are easy to work with, and once a customer these companies will take very good care of you. Typical motorcycle insurance coverage is as follows: * Both fire and theft of vehicle. * Vehicle damage incurred while in transit. * Vehicle theft from a carrying vehicle. * Coverage for motorcycle gear and accessories. * Coverage for motorcycle trailers can also be purchased. Often for less than $100 annually you can purchase insurance and have piece of mind knowing that your race day won't be a complete disaster if some low-life decides to steal your bike. As with any company make sure you read all the details provided as often there are necessary steps that must be taken for storage and security to ensure the coverage remains valid. Take a moment and think about the possibility of your bike being stolen or destroyed, and how that would affect you if you couldn't get that money back. Also realize if you are able to spend thousands of dollars on a bike and all the gear, then wouldn't it be wise of you to spend a few extra bucks to protect it?? Having your bike insured is a very smart step towards keeping your passion and hobby alive. Recent Motorcycle Theft Statistics: In 2008 alone, a total of 60,763 motorcycles were reported stolen in the United States. While that number is alarming, there is some good news in that the rate of motorcycle theft is down 2.3 percent from the 62,206 reported in 2007 and down 4.8 percent from the 63,828 reported in 2006. The report clearly shows that motorcycle theft is more seasonal than other vehicle theft activity. July and August logged the most thefts while December, January and February had the fewest. There are 684 different makes of motorcycles identified in the report, but just five manufacturers account for 150,183 – 80.4 percent – of the total thefts. The top five manufacturers are: Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Harley-Davidson. The five states with the most motorcycle theft activity are: California, Florida, Texas, North Carolina and Indiana. These states reported 72,619 thefts, or 38.9 percent of the total. While overall thefts are down, it must be noted that recoveries are down as well, mirroring a trend that began in 2006 when the national recovery rate for stolen vehicles fell below 60 percent (59.0) for the first time in more than 10 years. The top five states for recoveries of stolen motorcycles are: California, Florida, Texas, North Carolina and Maryland. With some bikes costing $20,000 and more, owners should take the time to learn how to protect their bikes. NICB has motorcycle theft prevention tips (.pdf).
